We, the undersigned enforce to maintain the tree alley in Belgická street it's recovery and continuous care. At the same time we disagree with cutting these trees down as planned by TSK hl. m. Praha during the reconstruction of Belgická street.

We don't essentially agree with the purpose of so-called reconstruction of Belgická street projected by TSK hl. m. Praha because cutting down of the trees  would create damage to the street for tens of years:

- all of the inhabitans of the street by crucial deterioration of the environment
- owners of properties (properties with full-grown trees in the street have 15% higher price)
- managers of restaurants, cafés, hotels (the atmophere brings visitors to the street)
- extraordinary atmophere of the street located in sight area

 

 

According to law n. 85/1190 Sb., about the petition law we address the municipal council Prague 2 and Prague City Council in the matter of public interest.

 

We, the undersigned demand

 

The capital of Prague:
1) Withdraws the request to cut down 75 trees that are part of the alley in Belgická street
2) Doesn´t exploit the already issued decision of the construction office to realise  the AGA project according to assignment of TSK hl. m. Praha
3) Reworks the project to respect all existing trees in the street

 

The borough of Prague 2:
1) Informs the residents of the street about present reconstruction project and any of it´s reworked version.
2) Asks the capital of Prague to transfer the management of the two-way street alley because present manager TSK hl. m . Praha neglected proper tree care. 
3) Accepts to recover gradually the tree alley, in this way:
a)recovery spread over 10-20 years, so the newly planted trees could gradually assume hygienic, microclimatic, ecologic and esthetic functions from the full-grown trees
b)recovery that preserve historicly original acacia white (robinia pseudoacacia Umbraculifera) because it´s unmistakeable beauty gave the street the distincitive genius loci therefore the alley is especially protected because it is located in the historical area where all interventions should lead to recovery of the original state
c)recovery with consistent plantation of the acacia white to all of the empty places that where freed after the cutting in the past 
d)the proper recovery not just replacement of the acacia white with fashionable small-treetops cultivars that evokes the atmosphere of supermarket parking place
e)recovery based on proper gradually care for all the woods with incidental cutting exslucively based on expert evaluation of the tree state and eligiable floricultural remedy in the care to abide the continuity of the environment quality
